My First Second Date!!!

Although my blog is titled “Online Dating in the City”, it’s actually about my dating experiences overall. For the first time in my life I can say I went on a second date!!!
I met him through my friend’s friend. We were at a Bachorlette party and a gay guy asked if we were Single? Married? Or in a relationship? Everyone there were either married or in a relationship, but I was the only single one. My friend’s friend offered to hook me up with her friend.
My friend (the Bachlorette) was excited for my date and so was I. She would not tell me anything about him except that he was tall. We were talking through text messaging almost every day. He seemed like a cool guy.

I was really nervous the day when I met him, because I didn’t know what he looked like and because he’s friends’ (Bachelorette) friend friend (it’s getting confusing), I wanted to make sure everything went well. He was running late of course (I don’t understand why people think it’s ok to be late?!), so I went to the restaurant early and ordered a glass of wine. I went to the bathroom and when I got back there he was. He was pretty tall and he was actually not bad looking!

So, the next 3 hours we were drinking and eating. He was a really nice guy and pretty cool.. BUT, he had gay tendencies.. A little bit too much, “O-M-G!!!” with the hand movements throughout the night was happening.. But I let that slide. All in all it was a good night. He walked me to the station and we said our good nights.

SECOND DATE!

This was my first second date!! I was really excited for it. We have been talking to each other consistently since our first date. We went out to Pho, we walked from my work so it was about 3 blocks, and there was TIFF going on as well. We were having a decent conversion. There was no drinking.............................. He then informed me that he won't be drinking for a year... A YEAR!!!!! He actually started before meeting me, but since on our first date we drank he was starting all over again...

Perhaps because I was sober?! But his, "O-M-G" and "You Know?!" was getting to me. Also, he swears a lot. Coming from the person whose every other word was the F word or the S word, I make a conscious decision not to swear.. I know I swear in my blogs, but in person I try not to swear unless I'm trying to get a point across. At this point in our lives (young professionals) profanity is not necessary. He was talking about a girl from his work and referred to her as, "One of dem bitches!", unnecessary.  Still cute, but the conversations didn't seem flow as well, or maybe at this point I just didn't care anymore.

Needless to say, I haven't heard from him in a while and there was no third date :(.
