Older does not mean wiser!

So, I have dabbled with guys who are in their 30's when I was in my 20's and guys in their 20's right now (in my 30's). So then I thought why not expand my range?! I clearly can't go younger, so I decided to go older.

I have talked to two guys in their 40's. One was 41 and the other 47, both didn't turn out so well.

41 yearold
This guy was tall lean a carpenter who just so happened to be working on a basement in my area. He messages me and we have a decent conversation and he asked me if I wanted to meet up. I declined politely because I had other plans. One day I finished work early, went home and decided to message him and asked him if he was available to meet up. He said sure and we decided on a time. Then all of a sudden he asks me why I had agreed to meet him. I told him I thought he was nice. Then he goes on a rampage on how I didn't read his profile and that I don't know anything about him. At this point I am annoyed and reminded him he's the one who messaged me! Then he cancels and that was that.

I mean did I do something wrong? I'm not sure what happened there, but isn't the whole point in meeting the person to get to know them better?

Again, this person messaged me first! So this guy tells me he's a successful executive (which at this point I don't care if they're lying as long as they have a job!), he's cute so I decided to talk to him. Just recently separated and just getting back on the market. He refuses to tell me what company he works for because he wants to protect his identity (I guess he's been stalked before?!), I just know it's in the food industry. Anyways, he seems like a sweet guy and we have great conversation. I told him what I wanted out of OKC and then he writes back that I am too young for him and he has nothing to offer me. I thought WTF?! He's just getting out of his marriage and he's not ready like be in a relationship with anyone.. again WTF!? Don't people read profiles before messaging a person?

So, with my two failed attempts to score an older guy I realized that older guys have young guy problems too! Damn.. Where is my happy medium?

Slowly Being Ghosted??

 Not too sure what happened after date 3.. He was all of a sudden a lot busier.. didn't message as much. I sort of understood where he was coming from.. He doesn't trust his trainers so I guess he has taken on more clients, considering he charges $250/hour that goes straight to his pockets. We were supposed to go on date 4 on Thursday because on Friday, I was going to Chicago.... but he had messaged Thursday afternoon to tell me he's not in a condition to meet up and have a conversation.. and slowly.. the messages are far and in between... sus?  I went on Bumble because I was falsely hopeful yet again... My work friend have gone on some amazing dates (she pays for Bumble, I should real pay at least for two month). The date that I recently went on.
