Men are like coffee??

During my university days I was very ambitious, like most people once I graduated I thought the world was going to be my clam shell and I was the pearl. The picture attached used to be my coffee order everyday! Quad Grande, 1 Pump Sugar-Free Vanilla, Non-fat, No Foam, Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks. Back in those days this cup cost me $4.27. NOW, it's $7.25 (luckily I had a free Starbucks reward)!!!

I had always thought if I drank bouji coffee, dressed in name brand clothes and go to the gym everyday, I would attract a guy similar (now they're called metros). Like the saying if you throw it out to the universe it will come back (something like that). A guy who has money, therefore has a good job and was attractive were my main criteria. I needed all that fluff, very shallow! what and how people perceived me was important to me!!

As I got older and as my coffee drinking buds have changed (simple: Triple Tall Americano, but still from Starbucks), I realized men are like coffee! The more things you add to it you dilute the taste of the coffee (and more expensive). I genuinely love the taste of strong coffee. I have come down to the bare minimum. Espresso shots and water, it gets the job done and it is what I want in the morning. I feel like searching for a guy should be the same thing..

COFFEE - GUY Relation
  • Coffee helps me get through the day - a guy should help me through life.
  • My coffee still needs to come from Starbucks or even those independent coffee stores (NO TIM HORTONS! Only if I'm feeling cheap and desperate.. Sort of like a one night stand!).. So I guess I'm still somewhat bouj! - Guy needs to have a decent job. Hey if I have a decent job so should the guy!
  • Starbucks is always there for me (they are only 2-3 blocks from where I am; whether it's work or at home) - like a guy should be
  • No regrets with my Americano, I don't need to change it, once in a while I will spruce it up by adding non-fat milk - I should accept the guy the way he is, only changing him once in a while

I still have a Caramel Macchiato and when I do it is a treat. It brings me back to those days when I thought good guys were readily available and finding someone was like a Korean Drama or a Romantic Comedy movie.
