Dates are like Interviews...
Dates are like interviews, you think it went well and they don't call back for a second one...
That was the case with my Tinder Date number two. He was a Chinese guy (my first Chinese date), he also chatted with my friend (Do friends really know best? second date hook up friend.. Lets call her HY). It turns out this guy is a avid Tinder user, he even used it in Hong Kong (he was only there for a week!); perhaps it's an only child thing..
Anyways, first we went to Joey's (by Eaton Centre) for a drink, it was my first time at Joey's it's a pretty happening place! Then we walked over to a place in China Town for dumplings called Yummy Yummy (located 79 Huron St). I tried mutton for the first time.. I did not like it! I would recommend the pork and chive dumpling (they are all handmade)! I was quite excited because I have never met a guy who loves dumplings as much as I do! Then we took a cab to a lounge called Carbon. It is a beautiful lounge with classic loft feeling (located 99 Queen St E). Great atmosphere for after work drinks and food!
He's a smart guy... Only child, went to Waterloo for CS and works for an app company that created Words with Friends and Draw Something. Loves cars, likes to snowboard.. AND has his own place! He's very much into online dating, speed dating, and as I mentioned Tinder. Anything to meet someone new!
We had a great time at Carbon. He is a Scotch drinker, so he ordered two Scotch for me and taught me how to drink it. It was quite interesting, different parts of your tongue brings out different experience and flavour.
We walked to the subway station together. Overall I thought it was a good night, but clearly not because he didn't call for a second date....
Well on the bright side I got free alcohol (went halvsies on the dumpling).
